The man who arrested Hartsell for raping his girlfriend’s child

Hartsell, Ala. (WAFF) – A Hartsell man was arrested Monday for sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s five-year-old child.

Ryan Rezek, 29, was arrested Tuesday for physically abusing his girlfriend’s child, according to a Facebook post from the Hartselle Police Department.

Officers from the Hartselle Police Department searched the home where Rezek and his girlfriend lived on Tuesday. When officers arrived at the residence, they found that the child had been severely beaten.

Investigators with the police department arrived and determined that Rezek was responsible for the child’s injuries. The child was taken to the hospital and is being treated for his injuries.

Rezek was charged with aggravated child abuse, booked into the Morgan County Jail and held on $10,000 bail.

After an Aniah Law hearing on May 26, Rezek was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

He will attend the preliminary hearing on June 20.
