Sixth graders are on their way to success

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – A very special field trip Friday morning for Salida Del Sol Elementary School’s sixth graders.

Yuma students walked through the “Tunnel of Hope” to celebrate their progress to high school.

The ceremony is held to remind students that they are capable of success no matter what obstacles they face in the future.

“We just want to line the hallways and have our 6th graders walk the red carpet down the hallways and cheer them on for the next level of success,” said Sheila Mendoza, principal of Salida Del Sol Elementary School.

This is the third year Salida Del Sol has hosted the Tunnel of Hope.
