Las Vegas, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Police Department says a 16-year-old boy has been arrested after he is accused of fatally shooting a South Valley woman in April.
According to news reports, the incident happened at approximately 20:57 on the night of April 23. Police previously said the victim was walking when an unknown vehicle fired at him.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office previously identified the victim as 43-year-old Shona McCowan. Officials said that the cause of his death was a gunshot wound to the body and neck. The coroner’s office said the cause of his death was homicide.
According to the police, investigators have identified a 16-year-old youth as a suspect in this case.
The teenager was arrested on May 24 by the Criminal Apprehension Squad, the release said. The juvenile was booked into Clark Juvenile Hall for murder with a deadly weapon and two counts of attempted murder.
