Lane closures will begin on June 1 and end on June 2
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Westbound lanes along Interstate-8 in Yuma will be closed June 1st through June 2nd.
Westbound I-8 between 16th Street and the Arizona/California state line will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1 and ending at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2.
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) advises drivers to take the 16th Street exit.
For the detour, drivers can turn left on 16th Street onto 4th Avenue, then turn right on 4th Avenue and head west on I-8 West.
ADOT said the closures are related to an ongoing project to improve the I-8 Colorado River Bridge.
