HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two suspects in the opening fire in a chicken fight over the weekend that killed two people and injured three others surrendered to police Tuesday and are facing first-degree murder charges.
HPD Lt. Dina Thoemmes said the first suspect is Jacob Borge, 23, of Waianae.
Police said the second suspect is a 16-year-old boy. Despite the nature of the crime, the identity of the second suspect has not been revealed because he is a minor.
The shooting happened around midnight Friday on Kaukamana Road in Miley.
“There was an argument at the end of the chicken fight,” Tommes said. “This argument escalated to a shooting.”
Honolulu police said they witnessed two victims — a man and a woman — being taken to Waianae Beach Comprehensive Health Center in private vehicles.
Authorities say both victims were in critical condition at the hospital before they died.
Lovers identified them as Gary and Kathy Rabelliza.
When officers arrived at the hospital, three other people were also being treated for gunshot wounds. The three were later treated and released, officials said.
