ImpactLife donates to the River Bend Food Bank

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – ImpactLife presented the River Bend Food Bank with a check Tuesday morning through the organization’s Good Food promotion.

ImpactLife donated $6,000 to the River Bend Food Bank through a holiday promotion where the organization gave blood donors a voucher to choose from an electronic gift card or donations of the same amount to support local food. banks in the service area of the blood center.

The director of the River Bend Food Bank says the donation is especially helpful in reducing the number of food donations the food bank has seen.

“Food donations come from our wholesalers, manufacturers and retail partners,” said Leslie Corlett, Director of Donor Relations at the River Bend Food Bank. “If they don’t have food themselves, they can’t donate it to the food bank, so we have to buy more food than we have in the past.”

According to ImpactLife officials, more than 2,500 donors have directed their support to food banks, with a total of $42,185 distributed to food banks serving communities in ImpactLife’s service area.

Additionally, to help celebrate Earth Day on April 22 and Arbor Day on April 26, ImpactLife officials say they are offering donors a similar opportunity to give to the National Forest Foundation.
