Hamilton police found a firearm after a man was pulled over for drunken driving

HAMILTON, TX (KWTX) – A Washington, D.C., man was arrested in Central Tea after authorities found several firearms in his car after he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The Hamilton Police Department responded to the 1000 block of East Main Street around 12:30 a.m. on April 12.

During the investigation, the driver of the car was found to be drunk and arrested.

Officers found several firearms, firearm parts and ammunition during a search of the vehicle.

“During further investigation, officers determined that the driver was a Washington state resident who had purchased the firearm in Houston and was returning to Washington state,” police said on their Facebook page.

This investigation is ongoing.
