Grand Forks officially terminates the Fufeng deal

GRAND FORKS, ND (Valley News Live) – Grand Forks city officials officially decided to terminate the development agreement between the city and Fufeng USA Inc. on Thursday, April 20th.

City officials made the decision based on a Jan. 27, 2023, decision by the U.S. government and the U.S. Air Force, saying it poses a threat to national security and a short- and long-term threat to Air Force operations. base in Grand Forks.

Back in February, the Grand Forks City Council voted unanimously to cancel a proposed Chinese-owned corn processing plant project, citing certain national security concerns.

Grand Forks is also requesting and seeking funds from the Letter of Credit for City costs, expenses and fees under the Development Agreement.
