DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — One of two Iowa teenagers accused of beating death An Iowa high school teacher was found guilty of first-degree murder
On Tuesday morning, Willard Miller changed his plea to guilty, admitting he served as a bodyguard while Jeremy Goodale beat 66-year-old Nohema Graber, their Spanish teacher at Fairfield High School. Her body was found in a park in Fairfield in November 2021.
Prosecutors said evidence showed both Miller and Goodale struck Graber with a stick. Investigators said that the attack was probably on one dispute about the grade in Graber’s class.
Prosecutors agreed to recommend a sentence of 30 years to life in prison with the possibility of parole as part of a plea deal with Miller.
Goodale is scheduled to appear in court later Tuesday morning. He previously agreed to testify in his trial against Miller, which was expected to begin later this week.
