Woman Starts Lost and Found Group for Mississippi Tornado Victims

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – There are reports of photos and other memorabilia being found in the backyards of homes nearly 200 miles away from where the tornado made landfall.

One woman started a Facebook group to return them to their rightful owners.

When people find items such as wedding photos, receipts and documents, they post it in this group in the hope that someone will recognize the photos and names.

Hannah Burt says she was inspired to create the group after her home in Houston, Mississippi, was destroyed by a hurricane in 2011; a woman in alabama found an old beauty pageant photo and was able to return it to her… she wanted to pay it forward.
