White Lotus’ Lukas Gage shares mom’s reaction to NSFW sex scene

I never wanted anyone to feel scrutinized or like a joke. I just believe that everyone should embrace all their sides and everything they love about themselves and not be ashamed.”

The California native added that the “goal” of his work on screen is to help people feel “connected” and “seen” by the characters he plays.

“At the end of the day, you hope that stories don’t just entertain. Maybe it’s just fun for fun’s sake, or maybe it’s an escape from whatever hard time they’re having in their lives, but to be seen in these characters, to feel like you can relate and like someone else gets it — ‘I’m not alone there’ — at the end of the day, that’s the greatest gift I can have in this business,” he said. “That’s the biggest compliment I can get for anything I play.”

When it came to his sexuality, Gage was often candid. When a social media troll posted a critique of Hollywood’s pattern of casting straight actors for queer roles in June 2022, Moonshot the actor quickly shot back.

“If Hollywood can stop casting non-LGBTQIA+ actors like @lukasgage to play LGBTQIA+ characters, that would be great,” a Twitter user wrote at the time. “So far he has played 4. 1 was enough.”

Gage, meanwhile, replied, “You don’t know my alphabet.” When the original poster encouraged Fags as a people alum to “enlighten the whole world” about his sexual identity, answered “No” with a red heart emoji.

The Super girl the actor has never publicly specified his sexual identity, but has played several LGBTQIA+ characters over the years. Earlier this month, the celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton confirmed that he and the Love, Victor alum were dating.

“Listen, I’m very happy [and] very much in love,” Appleton, 39, said during an appearance Wednesday, March 15 on The Drew Barrymore Show. “I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special. Love is a really special thing and I think meeting someone you connect with is very special.”

After a photo of the couple flashed on the screen, the Color Wow director added: “It’s Lukas [when we were] in Mexico.”

The You Zvezda and Appleton first sparked romance speculation when they posted pictures while on vacation together in St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico. Later, they walked the red carpet together Vanity Fair and TikTok’s Young Hollywood Night in Los Angeles on March 8.

However, when he discussed his relationship status with The New York Times in an interview published earlier that week, Gage spoke about his desire to keep the details of his love life private.

“If they want to think that, they can,” he told the outlet. “I’m a pretty open book about most things in my life, but I have a problem with the culture that everyone has to know everyone else’s business and nothing can be sacred. It’s a weird line that I’m still trying to figure out.”
