HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A flash flood warning has been issued for the island of Oahu until 3:45 a.m. due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu said an area of rain and thunderstorms was moving from the south over Oahu.
1 to 2 inches of rain per hour.
Some residents of Nanakuli also reported hail around midnight. In some of the photos sent, hail was seen as large as a quarter of the diameter of the hailstone.
Lightning was also visible from several parts of the island.
Rainfall causes minor flooding on highways, drainage areas, and rivers.
If heavy rain continues, the flood warning may be extended.
