LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Short-term rental owners are taking their fight to the Nevada Supreme Court.
Some short-term rental owners have filed a lawsuit over Clark County’s rules on Airbnb and VRBO properties.
The district court allowed most of the ordinance to stand, but called some aspects “unconstitutionally vague and overbroad.”
In Greater Las Vegas Short Term Tenant Association that this decision is not enough and appealed to the state supreme court.
The suit called the county’s regulations “overreaching by government.”
On March 29, the province will hold a lottery to determine who can move forward in the licensing process.
Nevada officials say there are 10,000 illegal short-term rentals.
