St. Patrick’s Day celebrations continue at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – With this year’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration coming up on Friday, many in the Quad Cities are continuing their festivities into the weekend.

Mississippi Valley Fields and B100 are hosting their third annual St. Patrick’s Day with live bands, a parade and a children’s area.

“We’re here because we love St. Patrick’s Day, so we thought we’d enjoy the festivities here at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds,” said the owner. Ladybug privileges Becky Tolen.

Tolen, along with other food and beverage vendors, provided hot food and drinks to combat the cold winds and snow.

Unfortunately, the parachuting leprechauns were unable to due to heavy rain, snow and wind, but they plan to return for next year’s celebration.

The feast was divided between them two facilities at the fairgrounds. In the center of the fair teams like Big hair mafia and Dirt Road Rockers attendees were entertained with original music and covers or all-time classics. Meanwhile, the Iowa Building has maintained a children’s area filled with animals and bouncy houses for children to play.

The event schedule shows that the performances will run late into the night, ending around 11pm on Saturday night.
