Shelby County Mayor sends letter to Clerk Wanda Halbert, warning and ultimatum

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris has written a letter to Clerk Wanda Halbert warning her of the consequences if she doesn’t act on time.

In the letter, Harris informs Halbert that her office lease is expiring soon and that she needs to find a new location, and that she needs to do so in a timely manner.

According to Harris, many have instructed Halbert to find an alternate location and now time is running out.

The mayor gives him an ultimatum: he asks Halbert to choose an alternative location in Poplar Plaza by Friday, March 24.

If Halbert does not do this, the mayor will be forced to call a meeting to discuss his shortcomings and take action.
