Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G challenges iPhone where it’s hard to beat it

Xiaomi has launched the series in Italy Redmi Note 12 just yesterday, but the Chinese company is already looking ahead, and is preparing to present at home a new member of this family that will certainly be talked about a lot (starting with the name): Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G.

In spite of the “turbo” suffix, which only suggests speed, there are also other distinctive elements of this smartphone, which will be presented in China on March 28, 2023. First of all, it will be the first to use the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2around you fresh presentation a few days agoand also one of his international version would already be foreseen, albeit under the brand LITTLE F5which is set to launch on March 30 in India.

Other technical details concern the RAM LPDDR5 and storage usage UFS 3.1as well as a particularly large vapor chamber to improve its internal cooling, just so as not to diminish the “turbo” of its name too much.

As far as the photographic sector is concerned, we are talking about a main camera from 64 megapixel con OISwhile the battery should be from 5.000 mAh with 67 Watt charging, and there will also be a lethal fingerprint reader, in the power button; all good or bad in line with other models of the Redmi Note 12 series. But an honorable mention certainly belongs to the one of a kind display.

As can be seen from the official poster above, Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G will have some frames around the display particularly contained, thinner even than those of iPhone. All this thanks to the use of a panel Flexible OLED 12-bit (68.7 billion colours, 100% DCI-P3, HDR10+) which will make it possible to reduce the “chin”, the thickness in the lower part, to just 2.22 mm, against the 2.4 of the iPhone ( a fight to the last millimetre); and if you also look at the lateral and upper thickness, Xiaomi’s victory is even clearer.

All this then with a total weight of 181 gramsa thickness of 7,9 mmcompared to a body and frame made of metal, not to neglect the solidity of the phone.

As in the latest Redmi Note 12 there is no shortage either jack audio e infraredand there is also good news about the software: MIUI 14 based on Android 13.

In short, a model to keep an eye on in terms of profile aesthetic, but not only. Let’s just hope they don’t 5 months before seeing him in Italy, as has happened so far with the other members of his family. We will know something more from next week, after the two launches we have mentioned. Below we leave you other official teasers to sift through.
