The age of artificial intelligence warfare has arrived: a war between technology companies, who are trying to implement new technologies into their tools as soon as possible. After Google’s announcement it’s up to Microsoft who announced the new Copilot.
Microsoft Copilot will implement the most advanced artificial intelligence system, GPT-4, within its Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and many others. Also in this case the goal is to increase productivity: for example by correcting the text, writing drafts, analyzing data, replying to emails.
So far, and it’s strange to say, there is nothing that hasn’t already been seen in other implementations of artificial intelligence. The real new technology is the so-called Business Chat. What is it about?
Thanks to Copilot, Business Chat will be able to combine a large set of business data, including documents, presentations, emails, calendars, contacts and much more to generate a single document capable of illustrating the progress of the activity and all the updates and information relating to it. In short, it stands as a new model of knowledge, capable of considerably speeding up work.
At the moment Copilot is in a very closed beta phase: only 20 people have access to it. However, once development is complete, the change brought about by this and other tools should be momentous.
