Lincoln woman accused of driving two men to death now faces first-degree murder charge

LINCOLN, Neb. (COLOGNE) – The charge against a Lincoln woman accused of killing two men with her car has been upgraded to first-degree murder.

Documents allege Taylor Bradley, 27, drove in front of The Lodge Apartments clubhouse and hit two maintenance workers, Chris Karmazin, 42, and Ronald Gonzalez, 45. According to an interview after the incident, he hit them both “a split second apart.”

Bradley provided officers with descriptions of the hit men that matched the bodies officers saw at the scene, the documents said.

In the affidavit of his arrest, the police wrote that they were called when two men were pulled over and on the way to the complex they encountered Bradley driving a car with heavy damage. They immediately took him into custody and initially arrested him for second degree murder.

In a press conference, Lincoln Police Chief Teresa Evins described the case as “complex,” but said officers believe there was “intent” in Bradley’s alleged actions. In a statement, an officer said they came to that conclusion because the area the people were under was 20 to 30 yards away from any road or highway intended for driving.

In addition to two counts of first-degree murder, the county attorney’s office is charging Bradley with one count of attempted first-degree murder and naming another person they believe he tried to kill.

Bradley will be arraigned Wednesday at 2 p.m. on the following charges: two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of using a deadly weapon to commit a felony. He could face up to life in prison.

Ronald Gonzalez’s wife, Georgina, said she was heartbroken to lose the man she had been with for 15 years.

“He was a great guy. He tried to be a great husband, a great father to his children. He was always there, now that he’s gone, there’s an empty place in the house. It’s not like anybody else,” Georgina Gonzalez said through a family member who helped translate.
