LINCOLN, Neb. (COLON) – Lincoln police have arrested a woman after they say she intentionally ran over and killed two men with her car.
Police were called to the area near the Lodge Apartments near 48th Street and Nebraska Parkway around 1:22 p.m. on reports of two pedestrians being hit by a vehicle.
Police officers arrived and found two 40-year-old men dead.
Lincoln Police Chief Theresa Evins said a 27-year-old woman intentionally parked two men in a grassy parking lot and ran them both over with her car. He was arrested near the scene and charged with two counts of second-degree murder.
Police are now interviewing witnesses to determine a motive. Chief Evins said the situation is “more complicated than it seems.”
According to LPD, there are no ongoing public safety concerns. Police have not released the suspect’s name.
