Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a suspect in Hinds’ murder

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – A man wanted for a murder and kidnapping in Hinds was arrested by Lauderdale County deputies Sunday night, but it took some time to uncover his true identity under fake names.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Deputy Ward Calhoun told News 11 that jockey Deshawndre Williams was arrested on Sunday, March 19, after she was pulled over at the intersection of 22nd Avenue and B Street.

Williams fled the vehicle and a deputy chased after him, using a stun gun. Williams was then searched and a gun was found on him, Calhoun said.

Calhoun said Williams gave several fake names. The sheriff’s department fingerprinted him to find his information.

Williams’ true identity was confirmed late Tuesday, revealing that he has active warrants for murder and kidnapping in Hinds County, USA.
