Life in the public eye has not always been a dream come true Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) as she navigates a high-profile marriage and social media backlash.
After she entered the stage as the daughter of an actor Stephen Baldwin, Hailey began modeling and dating other members of young Hollywood. In 2015, the former ballet star was on the rise when she was linked justin bieber in the midst of breaking up his on-again, off-again relationship Selena Gomez. The two dated for a few months before calling it quits in March 2016.
Justin will be associated with him Sofia Richie and reunite with Gomez before settling down with Hailey in 2018. The two tied the knot that September after just months of dating for the second time.
“I got married when I was 21, two months before I turned 22, which is crazy young. And it sounds almost funny when you say it out loud. Although I think that for someone like me and someone like Justin[it’sdifferentWe’veseenenoughlifetoknowthat’swhatwewanted”shetold[tojedrugačijeVidelismomnogozanašegodineObojesmoproživelidovoljnoživotadaznamodajetoonoštoželimo”reklajeona[it’sdifferentWe’veseenalotforourageWehavebothlivedenoughlifetoknowthat’swhatwewanted”shetoldElla in 2021, admitting that their first year of marriage was “very difficult.”
Hayley explained: “At the beginning of our marriage, I just wanted to hide. I was like, ‘I don’t want people in my business. I feel like everyone’s up my ass.’ I thought, ‘Can’t there be anonymity? Can I have some of that back?”
Aside from the pressures of making their relationship work, the Rhoda Beauty founder often hit back at social media users who couldn’t let go of Justin’s past with Gomez. When the Disney Channel alum dissed her breakup song “Lose You To Love Me” in 2019, Hailey was accused of taking a dig at Gomez by sharing a screenshot Summer Walker and Jené Aikosong “I’ll Kill You” via Instagram Stories.
After calling the speculation “total BS,” Gomez chimed in.
“I am very grateful for the response to the song. However, I will never stand up for women who tear other women down – the singer said at the time via Instagram live. “So please be nice to everyone.”
However, the social media drama continued as fans flooded many of Hailey’s posts with comments about Gomez.
“Leave me alone at this point,” Hailey declared via TikTok in April 2022. “I’m minding my own business. I do nothing, I say nothing. Leave me alone, please. Enough time had passed when I should have been left alone. Please. Indeed. That’s my only request. Be unhappy somewhere else, please.”
Two months later, the YouTuber expanded her online struggles.
“Something that is very difficult for me and takes a huge toll on my mental health is social media and my relationship with social media. I’m someone who struggles with people-pleasing – I really want everyone to like me and I care a lot about what people have to say and think,” she said in a video shared on her channel in June 2022. “I appreciate social media and I think it’s a really wonderful and beautiful tool to connect with people. I’m in a space where I’m trying to have the healthiest relationship with social media that I can.”
