DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – April is National Community College Month, and to celebrate, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) is offering a selection of free continuing education courses to the public next month.
The free continuing education courses will be available from April 1 to 27, said college officials from EICC. All courses are 60 to 90 minutes long and are offered in person or online via Zoom.
“Community College Month is the perfect time to celebrate all that EICC has to offer,” said EICC Director of Continuing Education and Professional Development Paula Arends. “This is our way of thanking the community for their support and introducing them to the many continuing education courses we have available. There really is something for everyone. “
The schedule of classes covers a wide range of subjects taught by experienced EICC instructors, EICC officials said. Whether you want to start a new hobby, explore a different career path, or learn a much-needed skill, it all starts here. Sample classroom courses include:

Officials also added that this year the college has partnered with a new Sweet tooth snacks to create a popcorn flavor called The Community’s MIX. Popcorn is a delicious mixture of melted chocolate sprinkled over freshly popped kettle corn and chocolate chip cookies. Officials said the bags will be sold all month at select locations on campus and at Sweet Tooth Snacks, 3012 E. 53rd St in Davenport, IA.
With every bag sold, a portion of the proceeds goes to the College Student Emergency Fund. The fund supports students who experience an unexpected financial emergency or catastrophic event that would otherwise prevent them from continuing their education at EICC, according to an EICC media release.
