LINCOLN, Neb. (COLOGNE) – The start of the new week will be a cold one and for some… another chance for some rain and snow. Fortunately, warmer and drier weather is expected on Tuesday.
Parts of midwestern Nebraska will have another chance to see accumulating snow Monday morning through Tuesday morning. A winter weather advisory is in effect for these areas for snow accumulation that could affect travel both Monday morning and evening. Overall, up to 2″ is possible in most of the central and western areas, but 2″ to 4″ is possible in the far southwest. Higher local fees are possible.

Snow will fall in the west of the country on Monday morning and will spread to southern areas during the afternoon and evening. A few snow showers are expected in the northwest in the afternoon. As most of the snow activity moves eastward during the afternoon and evening, there is a slight chance for isolated showers or snow showers in southeast Nebraska. Skies will be partly to partly cloudy overall, with highs in the upper 30s to cool into the mid-40s.

Most of the precipitation should end as we head into Monday night. However, isolated snow is possible in western Nebraska. Additionally, there is a slight chance of snow or sleet activity overnight along the southern and southeastern border of Nebraska. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy and lows will be on the cool side…lower 90s to low 20s.

A calmer, drier and warmer day is expected on Tuesday. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Another dry day is expected on Wednesday, but rain is likely to continue Wednesday night and into Friday night. The weekend looks dry. Temperatures will warm through Thursday, drop Friday and Saturday, and warm up again at the end of the week.
