An intentional garage fire in Galesburg on Friday

GALESBURG, IL. (KWQC) – Galesburg fire officials say Friday’s garage fire was intentionally started.

Fire officials said crews responded to the 400 block of N. Cedar Street at 11:15 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the northeast corner of the detached garage.

According to the media report, firefighters later extinguished the fire and no one was injured.

Galesburg fire officials say the damage is estimated at $5,000 and the fire has been determined to be intentional. Galesburg police and fire officials are investigating the incident.
