MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – Friday is the last day of Women’s History Month. During this time, the local DJ has made it his mission to respect women in our society.
Joyce Franklin, host of Morning Praise Tour with Joyce, started the tradition of honoring women during Women’s History Month four years ago. This year was no different.
“March is Women’s History Month and I chose to honor some women, local women in the area who are movers, shakers, social women, hardworking women who are dedicated to family and community,” Franklin said. “Local women who have just built themselves and built their community and are trying to do something for the community. Yes, they are all very important. One of them, Margarita Webb, she started at the end of her life with the goals of her education. When he decided to go back to school to get his bachelor’s degree. After that, he worked on his master’s degree. And now she is working on her Ph.D. And this is all within a few years. People have said, Miss Joyce, you tell a story that moves me, and that’s what these stories are. They motivate other women. “
The honored women received a certificate, goodie bag and joined Joyce during her performance. He said he hopes to continue to do so in the future.
