KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) – The Killeen Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that left one person dead early Saturday morning.
Police were dispatched to the 4300 block of Hank Drive around 12:30 a.m. March 25.
Once officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound and began CPR until paramedics arrived.
After that, the victim was taken to the Carl R. Army Medical Center. Darnall was transported, where he succumbed to his injuries.
It was about 1:18 a.m., according to Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was arguing with a man who took a butcher’s knife and held it to her side.
The man then grabbed a gun and fired, hitting the woman in the chest, according to KPD.
The man called 911 and began CPR until officers arrived and took over.
At the moment, no one has been arrested.
Detectives continue to actively investigate this incident and no additional information is available at this time.
