A 43-year-old woman has been charged with arson for allegedly setting fire to a Kalihi business

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police on Friday charged a woman who allegedly set fire to a former used car business in Kalihi, Kai.

Authorities said 43-year-old Lona Moore has been charged with arson.

The incident happened last week on Republic Street before 2:00 p.m

Upon arrival, firefighters said they found three vehicles on fire inside a car in the open air.

Investigators determined the fire to be incendiary and that it started in the car.

The fire was extinguished after about 10 minutes and no one was injured.

HFD said the estimated damage to property is $60,000 and $15,000 to contents.
