According to the CEO of Xiaomi Lei Jun, in fact, the company has big plans: aims to become one of the top five automakers over the next twenty years. It is a truly ambitious project, given that for the moment there is no product yet on the road, but according to the company it is more than feasible.
For Lei Jun, Xiaomi is about 6 years behind the rest of the car competition: however in 2024 its first vehicle will be launched, and last year the company attracted hundreds of millions of dollars in automotive investment. The goal is to bring a machine that can integrate perfectly with the rest of the Xiaomi brand, therefore phones and other smart devices. All that remains is to see if Jun’s conviction is founded.
