(CNN, KYMA/KECY) – Americans currently in Russia are being told to leave the country as soon as possible.
A travel advisory from the US State Department says that US citizens should “exercise extra caution due to the risk of illegal detention.”
The tip also says that Russian security services have previously detained Americans, denied them fair treatment, and convicted them despite credible evidence.
Russian security services also target foreign and international organizations they deem “undesirable,” according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
