Samsung presents the Galaxy S23 series: models, specifications and prices

With an event held today in San Francisco (morning for America) Samsung presented its new top of the range Galaxy S23 series. There are three models: Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ e Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The novelties are concentrated both in the aesthetic part and in the hardware of the devices: from the point of view of design in fact, i borders of the new smartphones now appear flatter and less rounded, while at the rear the camera lenses are no longer inserted (for S23 and S23+) in that small island with contrasting colors, but emerge naturally from a completely smooth and flat body . As always, the main innovations that can be summarized by the are inside new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor specially customized for Galaxy models from Samsung (for the first time this year there will be no models with Exynos chipset), a 200 Megapixel main camera (made by Samsung) for the S23 Ultra, a general improvement of the imaging sectionthe presence of Gorilla Glass 2 di Corning e 120Hz refresh rate display. Galaxy S23 Ultra

The undoubted novelty of the Ultra model is the presence of the fotocamera da 200 Megapixel Adaptive Pixel which takes advantage of different levels of pixel binning to offer output options of 200, 50 or 12 Megapixels.

In addition to the 200-megapixel camera, there are two 10-megapixel telephoto cameras on the back, with 3x and 10x optical zoom capabilities, respectively, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

The heart of the device is the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor, supported by a 5,000 mah battery that ensures 40% faster performance and lower latenå, a real boon for gamers.

The smartphone features a 6.8-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and comes in 8/256, 12/256, 12/512 and 12/1TB memory sizes. Galaxy S23 Ultra runs on Android 13 with Samsung One UI 5.1 interface, offers 5G connectivity and IP68 protection certification.

Galaxy S23 e S23+

The two “base and plus” models of the series offer 6.1 and 6.6 inch Dynamimc Amoled displays, also with 120 Hz refresh rate and Full HD resolution.

Their camera layout is identical with a 50 Megapixel main lens (wide angle), a 12 Megapixel ultra wide, a 10 Megapixel telephoto with 3X optical zoom and a 12 Megapixel front facing camera.

On the memory front, both smartphones offer denominations of 8/256 GB and 8/512 GB, while only the base model also has the lower denomination of 8/128 GB.

Slight differences also for the batteries, with an amperage of 3,900 mAh for the S23 and 4,700 mAh for the S23+. Both models have IP68 certification.

Prices, colors and availability

The Galaxy S23 series is available in four matte colors: Phantom Black, Cream, Green e Lavender.

Galaxy S23 will be purchasable in the following configurations:

  • in the 8GB + 128GB version at a price of 979 euros.
  • in the 8GB + 256GB version at a price of 1,039 euros.

Galaxy S23+ will be purchasable in the following configurations:

  • in the 8GB + 256GB version at a price of 1,229 euros.
  • in the 8GB + 512GB version at a price of 1,349 euros.

Galaxy S23 Ultra will be purchasable in the following configurations:

  • in the 8GB + 256GB version at a price of 1,479 euros.
  • in the 12GB + 512GB version at a price of 1,659 euros.
  • in the 12GB + 1TB version at a price of 1,899 euros.

Users who will buy Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 1TB, a S23 Ultra 512GB, a S23+ 512GB and a S23 256GB on the Samsung Online Shop by 16 February 2023by registering the product by 24 April 2023, they will receive a refund for the product purchased, respectively 240, 180, 120 and 60 euros.
