OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Police identify man accused escaping from a traffic stop and stealing a van.
On Friday, February 10, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Omaha Police Helicopter ABLE-1 notified them that they were following a Honda that had fled the Fugitive Unit from Council Bluffs to Omaha.
The Honda was said to be driving recklessly up and down Abbott Drive until an Omaha police officer was able to deploy the stop sticks.
When the Honda became disabled at 2020 Abbott Drive in front of the Hampton Inn, the suspect got out of the Honda and allegedly stole a white service van and fled again. Carter Lake police then got involved.
This chase continued until the suspect got out of the van and allegedly tried to escape in another car, allegedly driven by the suspect’s brother.
The suspect surrendered without further incident. The furnace continued on and settled into a home near 72nd and Ontario Streets.
Police named the suspect as 33-year-old Miranda Grady. He is facing many charges.
