ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – After opening in 1942, Dogtown’s historic bar, Pat Connolly’s Tavern, is moving to new ownership in the coming months.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the pub announced after much deliberation that it would soon be changing operations. Pat Connolly’s Tavern, located at 6400 Oakland, is passing ownership from Joe Jovanovich and Teresa Connolly to David Guller. Guller has lived in St. Louis for the past 25 years as a successful entrepreneur and is expected to bring a new chapter of success to the popular restaurant and bar.
In an Instagram post, the current owners said employees will be retained after the transition.
Jovanovic and Connolly say they hope their family’s legacy will live on after many memories and moments have been shared. They also shared that they are excited to be in the heart of Dogtown for the last St. Patrick’s Day.
An official date for the switch has yet to be announced, but pub shareholders will be in touch with more details soon.
