LINCOLN, Neb. (COLON) – The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a series of violations related to a shooting in the Eyre Park neighborhood.
At approximately 12:53 a.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a home on Lindsay Circle, off NW 54th Street, on a report of a shooting.
LPD said responding officers spoke with a number of neighbors who described hearing between one and eight gunshots outside the home.
One of the front windows was damaged, consistent with a gunshot, and a round was lodged in an interior wall, police said. A gas meter outside the home was also damaged in the shooting, according to police.
According to LPD, three spent 9 mm casings and one intact 9 mm round were recovered by the pedestrian.
Officers were told of additional gunfire heard north of the reported incident, where officers said two vehicles were damaged by gunfire near NW 54th Street.
One of the vehicles was a 2019 Ford Flex and the other was a 2015 Ford Escape, police said, and seven spent 9mm shell casings were found near the wrecked vehicles.
