For anyone who uses one smartwatch with Wear OS 3 a rather important novelty has been released. In fact, the app of Google Maps finally supports l’Always on Display. What does this mean? Simple: even with the wrist down, the navigation indications will be viewable on the screen. Among other things, the update also introduced a change to the navigation interface: now, in fact, it will be possible to use a more schematic view. For the “nostalgic”, however, no problem: it will be possible to recall the map by pressing the small icon at the bottom of the screen.
And speaking of the update, although in recent weeks Google Maps for Wear OS is updating to the version 11.65the introduction of the Always on Display will take place with an update lato server: in a nutshell, therefore, these innovations can also be had with previous versions of the app for Wears OS 3. Furthermore, speaking of AOD, one cannot fail to refer to the fact that, unfortunately, various Google applications are still unable to receive support for this feature.
In short, the hope is that the Mountain View giant will soon be able to remedy this critical issue.
Still talking about Wear OS 3, there are rumors about the possibility that this operating system will soon too will be able to benefit from all the elements of the Material Youincluding the option to automatically adjust interface color tones. Finally, it is still unclear whether in the future Wear OS – which is currently based on Android 11 – will pass to Android 12 or directly to Android 14.
