The suspect of the double murder turned himself in

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Monday night, just before 8:30 p.m., 47-year-old Guadalupe Pelayo turned herself in to the Yuma Police Department in connection with a double homicide.

Pelayo was taken into custody and booked on 1st degree murder.

The deceased are 41-year-old Francisco Lopez and 35-year-old Luis Navarrete.

At approximately 1:21 a.m. Monday, the Yuma Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of E. 1st.^St Street, near Alement Bar in downtown Yuma.

Upon arrival, officers located two men with gunshot wounds.

Francisco Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene and Luis Navarrete was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
