A new developer scorecard incentivizes construction projects in developed areas in St. Louis City

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – For months, a St. Louis mountain climber and advocates have been fighting city deals for a developer to build this massive tower at the foot of Forest Park. On Monday, this fight could be decided.

The St. Louis Development Corporation is now using a new scorecard.

The developer will receive points based on how their project benefits the sections of the city.

Projects must score at least 30 points to even be considered for incentives.

The struggle throughout has been that developers want too many breaks and focus too much on the central corridor rather than the north or south side of town.

Now projects in developed areas get more points.

Hopefully this will change the city’s recycling game.
