There is hope for fans of the World Cup

BISMARCK, ND (KFYR) – The World Cup is underway in Qatar and on Saturday morning the United States had a chance to advance to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2002.

A few soccer or “football” fans started their morning with a cup of joy and excitement to boot. Pat Vannett, whose daughters played soccer, says the United States is missing just one piece of a perfect game plan.

“We need the forwards to really put it in the net, we controlled the ball, we had a great defense, but now we need to score, score, score,” Vannett said.

Although the Dutch are favorites to win this match, the fans still have hope.

“I always leave room for miracles, and I’m definitely rooting for the U.S.,” Natalie Pierce said.

The Netherlands scored early and again, win or lose, these fans will always be rooting for the red, white and blue.

After an intense match, the United States of America lost to the Netherlands with a score of 3:1.
