iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max: limited stocks, there are problems with shipments

In a note shared on the web, the Cupertino giant stated that the shipments of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be less than expected due to the temporary restrictions and lockdowns (still) imposed in China at the Foxconn plant. On the Apple Newsroom site there is the press release that explains just that. We report it below:

Restrictions due to COVID-19 temporarily impacted the main assembly facility of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max located in Zhengzhou, China. The plant is currently operating at significantly reduced capacity. As we did during the COVID-19 pandemic, we prioritize the health and safety of workers in our supply chain.

We continue to see strong demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments to be lower than previously expected and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products.

We are working closely with our supplier to return to normal production levels while ensuring the health and safety of every worker.

According to what is learned from other reports, we find that iPhone production could be reduced by 30% due to government lockdowns that the Zhengzhou region in China where the flagships are produced is currently in lockdown. Waiting times are estimated to be 3-4 weeks (at least in the USA). For us Europeans too, the situation is no different.
