Second Annual NDDOT Name-A-Plow Contest

BISMARCK, ND (KFYR) – In preparation for the winter season, the North Dakota Department of Transportation has added more snowmobiles to its fleet and needs your help naming them.

The second annual Name-A-Plow contest returns for 2022. In 2021, more than 850 North Dakota residents entered their offers. NDDOT officials select the most attractive and reasonable proposals for each of the eight districts.

“Our main goal with this Name-A-Plow contest is to engage with the public, have a little fun, and also promote snowplow safety and make sure everyone is driving safely this winter,” said David Finley, Assistant Director of Communications. NDDOT.

NDDOT wants to remind people to be patient with snowplows – they will pull over and allow people to pass them periodically. It is better to go five car lengths behind to avoid the “white” and visible limitation.

The winner of the 2021 Name-A-Plow contest was the Bismarck Dart Blader, which will soon be keeping our roads safe this winter.
