Idahoans will head to the polls throughout Tuesday to vote in a high-stakes election that will determine every office in the Gem State, as well as both of Idaho’s seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and one of two state seats in the U.S. Senate.
Voters will also vote on other important ballot issues, such as whether the Idaho Legislature can call itself into a special session without the governor’s approval and if they will approve the Legislature’s intent to pass Gov. Brad Little’s tax cuts.
According to the Idaho Secretary of State. just over 1 million Idahoans are registered that a little more than half of them will vote in the general election on November 8 population of the state.
The deadline to register to vote online for the general election has already passed, but it is still possible to register in person on Election Day between 8:00 a.m. and the close of polls at 8:00 p.m.
Ada County residents who plan to be registered on the election day can do so at their polling place with a valid photo ID, proof of Ada County residency and a state ID number or the last four digits of their Social Security number.
The city offers an interactive map that allows users to enter their address and find their nearest polling location.
Residents can also check if they are already registered to vote, as well as their nearest polling location at Idaho Secretary of State website.
Absentee voting locations in Idaho
Ada County allows residents to vote before Election Day using absentee ballots and voting by mail or in a drop-off box.
People who want to vote by mail must have their own ballot returned to the county clerk’s office on Tuesday at 8 p.m, meaning if it hasn’t been sent already, then it’s probably too late. But residents with absentee ballots can also drop off their ballots at one of six drop box locations until 8pm on Tuesday:
