Operation against child predators in Hawaii arrested 4 soldiers

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A multi-agency operation to stop child predators has led to the arrest of four people in Hawaii.

Those arrested include a member of the National Guard, two sailors and a soldier.

They were arrested from 26 to 28 August.

Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the suspects.

Authorities said the suspects were trying to solicit sex from children over the Internet. But they didn’t know they were actually talking to undercover law enforcement officers.

It was part of “Operation Keiki Shield” between military and civilian law enforcement agencies. Since 2019, as a result of this operation, 28 arrests and 16 court sentences have been made.

The operation involved 40 to 55 law enforcement officers, from special agents to intelligence analysts to administrative staff.
