LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) – Naval Air Station Meridian presented its first Teacher Salute Award to Brittany Eicks, a 4th grade teacher at Northeast Lauderdale Elementary School.
The military base recognizes teachers who are “committed to educating, inspiring and growing the hearts and minds of all students, especially military children.”
Eicks said she knows exactly how many military children feel.
“Brittany has many exciting learning experiences. Brittany attended the Ron Clark Academy last year with other Northeastern Elementary teachers, which includes rigor and active participation,” said Northeastern Elementary Principal Anita Wansley. “She incorporates technology into her teaching, such as math apps, math games, one-on-one use of devices that mirror the large classroom screen, and Canvas for her students.”
NAS Meridian presents the award quarterly.
