MediaTek unveils Dimensity 9200, the new processor for top of the Android range

MediaTek has just unveiled the new flagship processor Dimensity 9200; the chipset is destined for the next-gen flagships of 2023. Now let’s see its features and what will be compatible smartphones.

Taiwanese OEM recently announced its latest high-end SoC; it’s called Dimensity 9200 and has many top features of a true industry leader. This processor will power many top of the 2023 Android range and it is said that it will be able to offer true world-class performance.

The chipset in question is based on TSMC’s 4-nanometer architectural node and offers better heat dissipation than in the past; power consumption has been reduced compared to the older generation and features the brand new ARM Cortex X3 core prime clocked at 3.05 GHz with three Cortex A-715s and four Cortex A510s. The SoC scored 1.26 million on AnTuTu.

In addition to these mere technical specifications, we learn that it supports LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 4.0 memory, 5K 60Hz displays, 144Hz WHQD and 240Hz FullHD. There’s also Miravision 980 technology. Ultimately, it’s ready for the next generation Wi-Fi 7 modem and there’s the 5G modem in tow with support for sub-6 GHz and mmWave connections.

When the first smartphones with Dimensity 9200 arrive? The first flagships equipped with this processor are rumored to arrive later this year. We expect a premium Vivo with MediaTek SoC, but also a Find X6 from OPPO. Probably, Xiaomi, Honor and Asus ROG will also use this solution instead of Qualcomm’s ones.
