Lincoln shoppers begin their holiday shopping at the first annual ‘Tis the Season Market

LINCOLN, Neb. (COLOGNE) – People got their holiday shopping done early Sunday at the first annual Tis-The Season holiday market.

The market brought together 28 local businesses under one roof. Those businesses, mostly owned by women, set up shops selling all kinds of festive items; from candles to clothes and even honey.

Guests got to decorate cookies and Santa even made an appearance.

The market was hosted by two local entrepreneurs.

“We felt there was a need for some kind of market in Lincoln, so we joined forces and we came up with ‘creative partnerships’ to put on events like this to promote local businesses,” said Melanie Rezak, owner of 555. Boutique .

It really feels good all day to promote a few other small local businesses and just show up today,” said Natasha Hoyer, owner of Patina Joe Boutique + Coffee.

Proceeds from the Sunday market went to Catholic Social Services. During the holidays, Catholic Social Services buys gifts for families in need.
