(KYMA, KECY) – After two years of trial, a man convicted of murdering a 22-year-old Oregon woman has been sentenced to life in prison.
Jorge Alan Aguilar-Hernandez, 23, was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Kirstion Fish.
The verdict came down last week.
Prosecutors say Aguilar claimed Fish borrowed $5,000 from him and moved to Oregon without paying it off, leading to his murder, which killed him two years ago.
Her body was found in a citrus grove between County 18th Street and 1E Avenue, east of Somerton.
Aguilar is not eligible for parole until he serves at least 25 years in prison.
On November 2, 2020, Aguilar picked up the fish from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and drove them both to Yuma, where he later shot the fish.
