As every year we find ourselves saying goodbye to software support for smartphone by Google. This year it is the turn of the Pixel 4, who have just finally said goodbye to the software updates periodicals.

Just like the Pixel 3 last year, the Pixel 4 series has come to end of software support promised by Google. This means that they will no longer be distributed periodic official updates from Google for Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.
The update with the October 2022 security patch it was therefore the last periodic update officially released for these two models. Android 13 it turns out instead the last one major update.
Everything is online con as promised by Google on the subject of software updates. Right from the start BigG made it clear that for the Pixel 4 series there would be 3 years of Android updates and 3 years periodic security updates, which are always distributed on a monthly basis.
This also applies to Pixel 4a, Pixel 5 and Pixel 5a.
For Pixel 6 and Pixel 7, on the other hand, Google has promised at least 5 years periodic security updates, remaining a 3 years regarding Android software updates.
What has just been said it does not mean that for Pixel 4 there will be no more updates. In fact, there may be some extraordinary updates in the event that particularly critical security vulnerabilities occur.
