Campbell Elementary School, day care when police responded

LINCOLN, Neb. (COLOGNE) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to avoid the area near 24th and Superior streets while responding to a call at a nearby apartment complex.

The LSO said Cambell Primary School was in a “secure status” and Little Munchkinland Daycare was closed while it responded.

According to Lincoln Public Schools, when a school is in a secure state, activities continue as normal, but entrances are locked and monitored. In the message of the school principal, it is said that the children are safe and education continues.

LSO has not released any information about this incident at this time. A reporter at the scene also said the Nebraska State Patrol was on the scene, but also could not provide details.
