Calves were stolen in Brookings

BROOKINGS, SD (Dakota News Now) – Multiple calves have been stolen from a pasture in Brookings County, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Sheriff Scott Sebring says the crime happened sometime between Oct. 27 and Nov. 5 on 473rd Avenue near 198th St. An unknown suspect made off with nine black calves with blue or pink ear tags, with a total value of approximately one and a half pounds. $10,000. They did not mark the calves. The incident remains under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
