Box Truck and Motorhome have a minor accident

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) – A minor injury accident occurred on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at approximately 2:27 p.m.

For more context, the incident happened on Interstate 8 (I-8) from Dunaway Road.

Additionally, two vehicles, a 2003 International 4300 Box Truck and a 2006 Beaver Monterrey were damaged.

Details about the accident

While the Box Truck was traveling westbound on I-8 eastbound, the Motorhome was traveling westbound.

Additionally, the occupant of the Box Truck was a 62-year-old man from Santee, California, while there were three occupants of the Motorhome.

They were a 50-year-old man, a 12-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy from Las Vegas, Nevada.

For unknown reasons, the Box Truck driver had difficulty maintaining the travel lane and moving into the center median.

From there, two cars collided.

The result

As a result of the accident, the driver of the Box Truck received minor injuries, but refused medical attention.

On the other hand, the passengers of the Motorhom driver also suffered minor injuries and went to the doctor.

Upon arrival, paramedics transported the 12-year-old female passenger to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.

This was done by Mercy Air Ambulance.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 10-year-old male passenger to El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC).

Transport was by American Medical Ambulance.

The investigation is ongoing

So far, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has determined that all parties involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.

While impairment was not a factor in the crash, the investigation is ongoing.
