TROY, Texas (KWTX) – Authorities are investigating a shooting involving the driver of a U-Haul truck and officers from the Temple and Troy police departments.
On Monday evening, Hill County authorities spotted a U-Haul and believed it to be the vehicle Amber alert of San Antonio, said an official with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Officers chased the U-Haul onto Church Street behind Love’s Truck Stop near Troy, Texas.
A Temple Police Department officer and a Troy Police Department officer both fired their weapons, striking the man in the U-Haul, a DPS official said.
The injured man was transported to Baylor Scott and White Temple. DPS does not yet have an update on his condition, but confirmed the man is not a suspect in the incident Amber alert.
